Regardless of your feelings--- i LOVE this fooking Chibson.

I would like to thank Sp8ctre for an awesome tuner trade deal---- Truly Thank you Chris.

So while changing strings and tuners I looked "under the hood" and YUP -- Epiphone pups!!!!

Swapped the Epiphone spec (though GIBSON DELUXE) logoed jade tuners

smooth and flawless operation........took some "shoe horning" as the holes where smaller for the epi spec tuners.....no issue WHIP out the drill and make it happen ---- woulda had SERIOUS reservations about doing so with an 8000.00 R9 --- but--- 188.00 CHIBSON --- HACK THAT BITCH UP!!!!!!!

plays and sounds amazing FEELS great LOOKS great and KICKS ass for less than a good pair of Air Jordans!! ---- Happpy as a clam

My guess.........somebody is "back dooring" Gibbo headstocks when the "man" aint looking...........or after hours or on weekends or something.......

Epi may be supplying the builder as OEM, very common but I doubt they agreed they would be used on those.
I know the whole Chibson thing was discussed at length already.

The cheapy Harbor Freight or other hand reamer does a great job of enlarging those holes without pulling up chips like a drill bit is prone to do.
I found Wilkinson branded 'ol greentooth keystone tuners that are very good, especially for a budget guitar upgrade, at about $24. delivered.
They are for the smaller 8 mm ( or 9mm?) bushings.
