New Cab project

I started to refinish the Randall cab I recently purchased. I ended up having enough red vinyl to recover the cabinet. I also need to fix my head cab since the vinyl covering didn't adhere right. I used a 3M spray adhesive on the head and it doesn't work at all.

I got the back covered and the new grill covering done this week, and realized I was low on the good glue from Mojotone. I have more on order so I have to wait until that gets here this week to finish it up. Now that I know the best method of using the Tru Glue from Mojotone, it's super easy to use and the results are perfect. Seams are easily made invisible unlike the 3M stuff where the seams are never right.

I spent some time last night to fix my head cabinet. The glue I used was the 3M spray and it never cured. I also screwed up the bottom seam as well by using a heat gun to expand the vinyl in an attempt to seal up the gap. However, once the vinyl cooled down, the glue, since it didn't cure, let the seam separate and I had this ugly seam right in the middle. Also, over time, the edges of the vinyl peeled away from the cabinet so I was constantly pushing it back down.

I pulled the bottom and cut in a new piece. There's two seams now, but with the new glue, they sealed up nicely. Also, cleaned and added the new glue to the edges around the cabinet to seat everything down nice and toight!

The Tru Glu from Mojotone is awesome stuff. I brush it on with a sponge brush to both the vinyl and the cabinet, let them dry. Once they are dry to the touch, stick them together. They are sticky when they touch but you can easily pull them apart and adjust things, make the seam cuts, etc. without any issues whatsoever. In 48 hours later, they are glued really good.
