New Acoustic Case Day

Absolutely not new but new to me.
This is with out a doubt the ugliest case I have ever seen but it looks very well built. By the looks, it’s about 30 years old or more. Tolex is gone top and bottom. I will get a pic soon.
Interesting shape on the top, flat , looks like real mahogany.

Yeah. That sucker is ugly. But as long as it functions…. Who cares??

No the inside is decent, my acoustic has no home. Now it does.

That could be a fun resto project.
Trim up the edges an glue just about anything on there.

Funky discount fabric, gear stickers, ugly Christmas sweater...
Or do a "custom" paint job like VH stripes or camo.

I thought just black Tolex ? But not a bad idea.

Mahogany has excellent sustain, you should put knobs on it.

I finally got around to starting this. I was going to buy the Tolex from Mojotone but I decided I might have a blunder or 2 so I opted for the pleather from Wmart.
It took a while sanding to get through the old glue.
High VOC glue! @fitz nasty stuff. I have it outside in the shed with the doors open at the moment. The flat is pretty easy, going over the edges might cause some heartache.

It’s not done and there are a bunch of mistakes but I can live with it.
