We know first hand in the Swamp....Been thru a few of the doozies...Andrew, Kat, and Michael...
Lost my parents home in Michael...

Only sad part is that there were alot of great memories in that house...
Good thing, nobody was hurt...
Just really feel sorry for the whole commune ....And its still a war zone....

Hoping for the best. My wife and I got married in NOLA two years after Katrina. The devastation was still obvious. Hopefully Barry is nothing like Katrina.
 
Yep GW. Prayers for all headed their way. Does sound the the storm surge is the major issue with this one..... that and boat load of rain.
 
I hope she is safe in here area...I am in NO now, my sister begged me to take her up here to NO and get my niece and bring her home since they closed the airport with her airline to get back to the Swamp..
Not sure how other areas have faired, but NO is doing quite well with some down powerlines and trees..
I am leaving 2 generators here for the family so they have power...
I brought enough supplies for the family to get along for a few weeks if power stays off...
Now for the trip back.....:dance:

I am leaving soon, just hope some of the roads to get back are not washed out..I have made this trip a few times when I lived in Tally, so I do know some of the backroads if need be to get back in the panhandle, than the trip south should be easy...

I am leaving the family well set up to get by, they have power and AC thanks to my generators, so they should be fine....Grabbin some crawfish to bring back to dah SWAMP...
