NCB: New Cab Day Randall RS125CX

I drove pretty much all day today picking this bad boy up. I've been looking for a 2x12/1x15 to finish off my Randall 667 stack and this one finally popped up on FB. This was my first deal on FB and it went well. Across the harbor so I had a long day of driving but it's in perfect condition.

The cab will be recovered to match my other 412 and new grill cloth as well. I'm not sure what speakers are in it yet, but they come stock with Eminence. I'll play around with it for a bit before I swap them out if necessary, but I am prepared to do so. The 412 with Jaguars is really dark sounding so this new cab may be a bit too bass heavy and I'll need to swap some speakers around.

For now it sits in my storage unit until next week when the daughter moves out and I free up a room to set things up in.

I tried to take off the back panel today but it's stuck on. Seems like this cab has never been pulled apart before. Pulled the handle off and took some photos of the inside.

All Birch ply construction. The back panel even. It has (2) Eminence 12" Legends and (1) Eminence 15" Legend speaker. I'm excited to try this sucker out soon.

Those cabs look like they never been used, certainly not roaded...they look like showroom condition.
Eminence speakers - easy to change for something good.
It's a major score and very attractive living room de'core.
I don't think 15" for guitar will hurt, the extra bottom would probably sound good.

Starting to rearrange the extra room and I don't have as much room as I'd hoped. We are keeping the queen bed for when the kids come to visit.

So, what do you think? Too much for an apartment? :D I still have another 412 Crate cabinet in storage that's coming in this week. I'm tired as hell just moving the two in today. Pacing myself. :D

That looks like fun! Congratulations! That Randall stack is going to look insanely awesome when/if you match up the grill cloth, and tolex!
Corners are a pain…the bane of many music spaces.

Perfect bedroom amp ..

Mitch

I loaded in the last cab yesterday. My old tired body can't move these things around much anymore. Sore as F today. I'm removing the casters on the bottom Randall cab and putting feet on them as soon as they come in this week. That will make things a little more stable on the carpet.

I temporarily hooked up the full Randall stack yesterday and plugged in for a few. Holy smokes that's a lot of amp for an apartment.
