A note about programmable amps like the Katana.
The thing I like the most about it is it can be run like any old amp, set the controls amd they are as you see them. The left side has an amp model to choose from so whether clean, crunch, OD etc. Makes it like 7 amps in one.
Now, as for the programs or presets, I use them only when I want a change midsong from the model settings I have chosen. It is like changing channels except the set of controls for that channel you have previously set up as a preset.
I use 1 footswitch button for Panel so it behaves like any amp. I change those settings slightly as required song by song. Then I have a lower gain Lead preset setting with higher volume, a Lead with higher gain and volume and a clean amd acoustic setting as presers. Step on corresponding switch and go!
One thing to watch, the Panel controls as ypu see them might not correspond to what the preset is. The preset might have really low mids and high treble for acoustic, say. When I switch to acoustic, the sounds are there but knobs may not show that. If ypu turn one control while in preset, the preset will now default to wherever the current panel control settings are, say, a way higher midrange. Oops. Just don't hit Save om that preset. if that makes sense. So setup the presets well!
