My First Go at Recording

First things first, I am not trying to compete with Session 5 over doing this song.
I have been working on this for over a month and still it sounds crappy.

I am trying to play While my Guitar Gently Weeps.
I saw a video of John Bolinger playing it so I had to try his version.

This is my '17 SG bridge pickup split straight into the Scarlet Solo into Garage Band.

Sounds nice! I am hoping to give recording a try soon too. Phone's just not cutting it anymore. I'm intimidated by the sheer amount of information I have been reading about while looking into recording....but to know that this is your first go at it, and it sounds as good as it does, it does give me hope! Good work!

not that hard, just get a USB interface, I have the Fosucrite Scarlette Solo. $109 an amazon. It comes with software, your DAW, Digital Audio Workstation. and your set.
If you have an Apple 'puter then you can record into Garage Band. Thats what I did. Good Luck. Really its not that hard.

I'd like to try Garage Band....but no Apple/mac.... it seems like a very user friendly and entry level DAW. Was looking at the Focusrite 6i6....seems they have a bundle deal on Amazon that comes with ProTools....
