Music Nomad

[Session 5]

This is what I use to restring my guitar, I like the rubber coating that protects the neck and keeps the guitar from slipping.

I like the Nomad doesn't scratch the neck has a soft rubber coating and doesn't fall over. I highly recommend!

I need to get that nomad. I've been using a large sock stuffed with newspaper. I need one bad. My money has always been going for something else.

I had one I made YEARS ago wood..solid-- with padding covered by cotton t-shirt material-- worked great -- somehow -- one of the critters got it---(willow) and well didnt take long for her to make wood chips of it

Mine is a piece of 2x4 covered with cotton towel material stapled to it.
I really splurged on it.

I've had this one for many years now. It works really well and is very stable. You can't beat on it, though.

I also have the StewMac version, too. The Deluxe Rock N Roller neck rest. It's pretty nice and well designed, but not super stable unless you clamp it down. And it can take a beating!

I use a cook one. Has 2 heights. $20 on Amazon.

Well I'm a cheap SOB, I use a couple of bath towels. Fold one in half to lay on the bench, roll another one up to support the guitar neck. Works brilliantly. I can make the one supporting the neck to any thickness needed. Stable as, cost nothing. Cheers

I used to do the same thing Ivan, but then I got tired of doing it, so I got the Nomad, no more fussin its right on a shelf under my bench.

Bass strings are changed ONCE-- to remove what ever scunge the previous owner left on them---- then your good for life --

I use a leather rifle rest, or the rest Sysco uses if I need complete access to the sides of the frets

I have one of these and I love it! It works great and the way it tilts allows it to work at any point on the neck with any guitar!

I don't give it much thought. I change strings a lot, so I just fit it in wherever...sometimes I put the guitar on the kitchen counter, sometime just sitting on the couch with it next to me, sometimes sitting in a chair. I feel an need for special equipment to do it since I do it so often.
