Marshall Valvestate Speaker Ohms Question:

My 1997 Marshall Valvestate VS265 has two Eminence speakers labeled 'Marshall Gold Back.' They are 8 ohm speakers.

I have a brand new 16 ohm 50 watt WGS Reaper collecting dust. Could it be safely used in this combo????

I don't think so. It's a stereo amp, so each speaker has it's own + & -
