Like they say to each their own

Only thing weird to me is that someone characterizes any of this behavior as weird.
He's the CEO of a pretty decent-sized business (McCartney, Inc.) and also happens to be one of the most famous/recognizable people on the planet. He runs a tight ship for a reason, and no-one is forced to work for him.

And yes, while some of his demands seem a bit eccentric, by far not the craziest things I've heard. I like his take on crowd control. As far as dressing room demands. Eccentric.... but I've heard of bands dumber demands that include such things as a continually filled bowl of M&M's..... only all the Blue one or Brown ones have to be removed first.

It was Van Halen that was famous for the M&M thing but it served a serious purpose: to determine how closely the venue staff had read and followed the rider. There were a lot of safety-related instructions included in the document. If they walked into the green room and saw that the brown M&Ms had been removed, they knew the crew was paying attention, if not they knew they had to be careful and double-check everything. All about attention to detail.
