Let's talk bout how we hear the music

Country flag
Mostly abut how when we make music & then play it back
Been noticing in the songs..the mixing
1) Killer on the hi fi stereo
2) Exactly right on the JBL monitors
3) Studio Headphones..my low power studio ones..closer to monitors but a dif sound with panning or mix layering compared to speakers. Notice the space relation much more
4) reg headphnes-pronounced low end & mid punch
5) ear buds..forgeddaboud it, hurts my ears & sometime feel unbalanced.even went to open ear fr when i run
6) Car stereo..all over the map from car to car
7) computer speakers-if mixed right..not bad at all(obvious low end will be missing & plastic) kinda reveals how well its balanced eben at at low fi vibe

Are we listening to more on headphones these days, guess since the walkman days?.. on studio phones or at the monitors when i listen to stuff on the sites or youtbe. Anytime i can, use anything but headphones

If the format is YouTube I can watch and listen on the TV in my living room. SoundCloud is on my phone only, the tunes in my truck are with its stereo, my CD player in the garage died.
So there it is.
Cheers

When I record I tend to do everything with my studio cans, and then I try it out through my "music listening" headphones, which have a pronounced low end and bit of a mid dip. If whatever I crapped out sounds good through those I know it will translate well to my hi-fi system. If it's too boomy, or thin up top, then I know I have to go back to the drawing board. I don't have a decent studio setup with a good pair of monitors, just good hi-fi speakers, and I don't really ever check in the car since I can't imagine a worse environment for listening to music.
