Let's Remember All Those Lost 18 Years Ago Today...

Hard not to get political, but out of respect for those lost souls, I just pray it never happens again.

I agree, but today I just want to remember the victims and their families.
I will never forget where I was the moment this happened and the complete disbelief. I was still active duty USAF and the base went
on complete lock down. We weren't even allowed to go home until very late that night. Of course all civilian aircraft were grounded
but our fighters took to the skies!
My thoughts and prayers go out to all!
Our first responders...THANK YOU for all you have done and will continue to do..
Our US military...THANK YOU for protecting us......
And to all who lost family loved ones on that very horrific day...Our thoughts and prayers are with you daily.
I along with others...WILL NEVER FORGET
And to those who served along side of me, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE....

When and got a haircut today . . . all 3 of them . . . and there was a story on the TV at the shop about the Stranger in the Red Bandana.
They told the whole story how this young man save all these lives without regard for his own, and in the end lost his.
I think about that day often. There were many heroes that day we never hear about.

September 12th 2001 was the very first time in my 22 years active duty that anyone ever thanked me for my service.
It has always seemed strange to me that it took such a grave event happening on US soil for people to decide we military

I know we have military veterans and first responders mostly retired or just tired at this point.
I want to thank you all. You all are my special brothers, and I know will have my back in the dark of night when something goes bump.

I also never expected any sort of thank you. I chose the military for a career because I loved it and I have a long history of military service in my family going all the way back to the Civil War!
Thank you to all my forum brothers who have served or are serving now! I still have a son-in-law serving and my youngest daughter served as well!
I wish not to sound like a broken record, but thank you to all my brothers who have and are serving, I will never forget ever!

We fly this flag one day a year. The red and blue stripes are text, the names of all those killed.
That morning, a good friend from college called after the first plane hit the tower and said get up and turn on the tv. I was sitting on the sofa in the den when I watched live, the second plane hitting the south tower. I will never forget that moment when I realized we are being attacked.
