Learning Guitar Harmonics

There are some good lessons out there on doing these harmonics. I can't recall this being discussed here, so it shouldn't be a dead beaten horse.;)

An important part of playing guitar i believe. And very useful tools that can enhance a song or a lick.

Some types of wood will dull the harmonics, sometimes the harmonics will disappear entirely.
The guitar has no sustain.

Other types of wood the harmonics will be responsive, consistent and hear-able.
A guitar that has bright consistent harmonics will sustain.

The harmonic response of a guitar depends heavily on the type of wood it is built from.
Pickups, electronics and hardware do not change this.

If you have a guitar that is harmonically dead, no sustain, you can't change that without changing the wood first.

But what I should mention is:
Guitars with no harmonic response / no sustain, still can be very useful for certain types of playing....
The "dead" guitar is very useful still yet for different applications.
Not all music requires a guitar that sustains....is what I'm trying to say.
