This is the guitar i am putting the finishing touches on (cosmetically) for my oldest Son.

This was the very first guitar that I built/assembled under the Von Herndon name - Serial number 0001.

It's a B.Hefner body and 24.75" scale neck with early 'U' profile and 12" radius.

It's literally a hodge-podge of parts I had laying around and I'm now focusing on working out a few details.

These trim rings are gold plated brass and I thought they really looked cool with cream pickups. However, the volume knob is in a bad spot.

Think a smaller knob would clear without moving the pot???? Or, I could raise the volume pot???

I was thinking maybe a brass, knurled knob might be small enough...thoughts???

These pickups in it are old, discontinued models I got from GFS. They are a non-adjustable "Double Slug" humbuckers that ohm out at around 15k.

I know it would be a lot of work involved, but what about the idea of fabricating a new pickguard and repositioning of the controls?

I thought about that. I have moved the volume knob before, but it really makes things crowded on the back of the pickguard....
