I feel so empowered...
Patti was warming some breakfast goodies this morning and the microwave started humming loudly and flashing.
Already had it in my mind to head to Sears this afternoon to get a new one.
But while I was browsing appliances on the computer I asked mister Google why a microwave
would hum loudly & flash.
Turned out to be some burnt food crud between the wave guide cover over the magnetron and the top of the appliance that was arcing.
I removed the waveguide cover, that looks like some kind of fiberboard but is semi transparent,
and found a nice burn spot between the cover and the top.
A good cleaning and carbon removal and reassembly and all is well.
Now that we won't have to waste $$$ on a new appliance, I wonder if she'll let me buy another amp or guitar.
