Just finished changing strings

This is how I do it. Graphite pencil in nut slots. I always just turn keys so strings have 2 to 3 turns around post for E, A and D strings. I never lock string around post. My guitars have always stayed in tune . A nice neat job..

Not that far off how I do it Norm. I don't lock the strings either..... except on the strat that came with locking tuners. Fifty years, never had a problem. Although, I always forget the graphite pencil deal.

Nice, 5. For anyone with OCD you'll wanna skip writing on your guitar though. Eww ..does not sit easy. Lol.

If my nut slots need graphite I break out the nut files. I don't use graphite and my nuts slots don't bind, not even on my LPs.
