Jimi Hendrix Double Stop Guitar Lesson

I think I'm probably the only one that's sick of hearing this Hendrix-esque stuff regurgitated over and over? I can't figure out why we guitar players are always looking in the rearview for inspiration instead of moving things forward. Maybe the guitar really is doomed after us old guys croak off.

You're not alone. This one reason why I can't listen to SRV. I don't enjoy backward-looking guitarists. This is why Jeff Beck is my listening choice most of the time.

DonP, You've convinced me over the last couple of weeks that I really need to give modern Jeff Beck another try. What do you recommend as a good starting point for someone that hasn't exactly loved what they've heard for a while but wants to keep an open mind?

Just go with a gig I was lucky enough to be at. "Live this week at Ronnie Scott's". It was one of those gigs with a silent audience because everyone wanted to listen, not whistle and hoot. Keep an eye on the audience too - there are a few familiar faces there being impressed. As an added treat, you get Tal Wilkenfeld on bass, Vinnie Colaiuta on drums and Jason Rebello on keys. Plus guest spots from Clapton, Imogen Heap and Joss Stone.

Thanks, this is happening tomorrow.
