Losing them always tore a piece out of my heart. We've lost them to old age and unfortunate sudden illnesses. Good on you to rescue. Mystry, our latest, was among a litter of 6 black kittens that were going to be killed because of some southern (no offense southerners) paranoia about black cats being bad luck. Our pet sitter, who also runs a rescue, when she heard about them dropped everything she was doing and drove 6 hours to North Carolina to get them. All found loving homes up here.

All mine are too.

I picked Lucy up from the middle of the highway. I saw a little tiny fluff as i went by and made the 1.5 mile loop back to get a 6 ounce ball of fur.
Maowi had been returned to the shelter multiple times in 1year. Idk why...she's perfect! Mowgli barely weighed a pound & wouldn't let anyone even touch him. He was full of tapeworm...aack! Shoving pills down a cat's throat is not fun! He's a snuggly furball now & doesn't leave my side.

Humans can be real turds sometimes.

Their loss.
