With the Elumi project on hold, and the Wrat waiting for a 12mm drill bit, time to break out yet another project. I bought this $200 kit off eBay last month, nothing special, but the wood looked nice. The guy that shipped it failed packaging 101. So it got a few dings that I need to sand and re-poly today.

Since the pups and such in the kit looked really cheap, I bought some locking tuners from Musiclily and a loaded blue strat pick guard off Reverb. Was ready to start assembly today and thought, what about BLUE ON BLACK :D Got out the 1997 black Squire Strat and decided I'll put the new blue loaded pick guard on the black Squire and take the Squire electronics and put them in the new pearly $5 Musiclilly pick guard and then harvest the PIO caps from the Hadean and swap those with the blue setup. Off to the paint booth (rear yard) and then to the soldering station.

I like that kit Don O, It looks really sharp the wood!! And I have to tell you I like the looks of the white pickguard. Really like the matching grain going through the neck and headstock very nice indeed. What kind of wood is it? The more I look at it with the Blue pickguard ,it seems to grow on me.

Well, I went Blue on Black. The black Squire really pops with the blue pick guard. The pups aren't bad either for a $65 complete setup. And it even has a kill switch, my first!

Oh, and it's now a signature guitar :ROFLMAO:

Well a slight change of plans, I moved the Squire electronics to the pearly pick guard, but decided to use the black pick guard and (cheap) electronics that came with the kit guitar. This is going to be a Christmas donor next year (thanks Kerry for the idea). Still needs a complete setup, but I got the 12 mm forstner bit yesterday, so the Wrat is back on the work bench. Gonna try some recording today too while the Mrs is out.

Don, if that was a swimming pool rout I would buy it. What a neat looking guitar!
