I usually stick with 8 ohm as well, but these came out of a 4x12. They would work great in a 2x12 in parallel or a 1x12 if your amp has a 16 Ohm output...

I'm using two of them myself in a 2x12 cabinet. I just have no use for the other two as I see no need for multiple cabs with the same speakers.
