Guy's don't like to talk about it, your prostate. Cancer is on the rise in this area not just older men, but also younger men as well. Its just a simple blood test a PST test I get this done every year as part of my checkup, which i had done this week.

Fortunately for me all my blood work came back very good numbers, my Dr. told me. I was some happy i must say . Its worth getting this done and stay on top of things.

Did mine a few months ago. I also do a colonoscopy every 5 years. In 2 years it will be my 6th. My mom had colon cancer.

Just did blood work up. Started in motion by my dentist that wouldn’t do my needed root canal with my high blood pressure. So got into doctor. Did blood work up. Put me on BP meds. Also found out my thyroid is broken and my cholesterol is up. What a surprise, I’m 70. Inherited the thyroid issue from my mom.

What was weird was BP was really high at dentist. 3 days later at doctor my BP was 25 points lower. Still high but not gonna have a stroke high. Made no sense.

Oh yeah. PST number was really good.

Blood pressure will go up when you're anxious. I don't know about you, but going to the dentist always makes me anxious, even if it's just a checkup or cleaning because you never know what they might find.

That's just it. I don't get worked up going to the dentist. Never have. Not even when I'm going in to get drilled on and roots getting cleaned out. I was more nervous and anxious going to the doctor not knowing what to expect from him. When I say my numbers were high at the dentist.... based on my BP at the dentist my next stop should have probably been the ER..... it was that high. Getting worked up.... stressing for three days before I got into the doctor..... freaking out trying to even get into a doctor before first of year..... should have probably given me the stroke. Got lucky. Doctor had a cancellation. Dude is now my primary care doctor. In the end worked out.

If he hadn't checked it I might be dead now because it was beyond stroke level and at the time I wasn't seeing a Dr regularly. I don't know why he decided to check it, he never had before. but I'm forever grateful that he did. He probably saved my life.

I was diagnosed with aggressive metastatic prostrate cancer last February. There is no cure once it spreads beyond the prostrate. The treatments can extend your survival but the side effects are considerable. They use hormones and other medications to stop your body from producing testosterone which feeds the cancer. This means no sex, slowing mental processes, hot flushes, muscle loss, fatigue, shrinking testicles, bone loss, and more. I've been on these treatments for six months. Soon I'll start radiation. I didn't get a PSA test until I was 69. I had no symptoms. If I had been tested earlier surgery would have meant I could be cancer free now. Get tested. It's a simple blood test.

I just googled BP for stoke level. Don't know what your numbers were and don't need to. But mine were there. Three days later, while they were still high, was not stroke level. In between I did nothing different.... so gotta wonder if the dentist just didn't do something right? Was just back to doctor today for a follow up. Three weeks on BP meds has me back to where I need to be, Still a smidge high, but doc is hesitant to put me on a higher dose as my heart rate is at 63 and he doesn't want it lower.
