Why is it that all of the Ambassadors here at The Tone Rooms are Ambassadors "of" as opposed to being Ambassadors "from" or "to" ?

Like Don says, they add it to your profile. When you hit the number, someone will start a thread, and then all the members start offering titles for ambassadorship based on your posts. Other members will second or third suggestions. In the end, you’ll have final say. JohnnyGoo came up with mine.

I'm not all that clear on how all of that Ambassador labeling works when you hit 1000 posts. Grant and the moderators can weigh in and determine your Ambassadorship designation or you can decide for yourself whether or not you want to be an Ambassador "of" "to" or "from" or simply "Ambassador".
