It's 11:22 PM and the inbound flight is two hours late I'm sitting with Claire in the departure lounge at Chania airport knowing we won't be home til 4:30 AM I want to say more but I just lost the will to live

I have been in many many airports and they all suck. No with them pulling people out of line in a random fashion I can also say I have sat in my underwear in many many airports. I only get inspected in the American Airports. I scare Americans and I don't phase the Europeans and the Asians.

Thanks. Well, It's Crete - try telling a Cretan he's actually Greek! Was it worth the trip? Sure. Only four days but loads of fun packed in there, plus snorkelling with the fishes.

Greece itself is not holding up. Massively in debt, and everything that was capable of showing a profit is now owned by German banks, so there is probably no way out but to declare bankruptcy and default out of the Euro currency. If they re-adopt the Drachma they may be able to value it so low on the markets that it actually becomes attractive.

I envy your travels, I can afford it but my wife refuses to fly and would kill me if I suggested cruising.
Don't stress about Germany owning Europe, China will soon own the rest of the world and the sooner we stop resisting the better off we'll be :-(

At least I learned the reason for the miserable journey, and I should have guessed it. If it is summer, the French air traffic controllers are on strike.

Easy Jet is not as bad as Ryan Air.

But, glad you had a nice 4 day break. Greece is a lovely holiday spot.
