Back when I was a kid, I loved to take things apart, especially Radios and TV's, problem was, I'd keep all the parts, knobs, tubes, you name it, it drove my parents nuts. Fast forward when I started playing guitar (around 9-10, early 60's.) I could never seem to get rid of stuff, I'd get a new piece of gear, but never could seem to get rid of the other stuff. This has continued to this day. When I moved from my home in the burbs of Chicago to Alabama I rented two very large storage lockers in a indoor, climate controlled facility and stashed what I wasn't taking with me, which was a good thing because I only lived in "Bama" for eight months, got divorced and moved back north along with acquisitions I acquired down there as well.

I moved down here in Southern Illinois to retire, but still have the storage lockers. I went back North about a year ago and made a trip to my lockers.....OMG! I can't believe the stuff I had and even forgot about. Guitars, Amps, Pedals, Parts, Road Cases, Covers, P.A. stuff, Lighting.... it is insane! I buy, sell, sometimes trade a lot on Ebay and Reverb.com ( More on Reverb and why I hate it now later.) I kick myself in the ass for selling some things, like my 54 Les Paul Custom that I paid a whooping 7K for in the 70's (Now they go for around 60K +.) to one of the first Marshal Major stacks that landed in Chicago (thinking I paid around 1,100.00 for it.) I found the carcasses from an original Mastro Fuzz Tone, Vox Clyde McCoy Wah and a couple Fuzz Faces.

I had my Ebay account hacked a couple years ago and with all the Ebay fees, I don't use it much anymore, started using Reverb, but now it's turning into a used car lot, tire kickers, people wanting to buy stuff for next to nothing, it pisses me off. Yeah, I'm gonna sell you a vintage tube ExhoPlex for $100.00......Not gonna happen. I've tried "The Market Place on Facebook, same thing. So I might try here, if you're looking for something, main stream, vintage, or just some weird part, let me know, I may have it...BUT....I really hate getting rid of stuff, FYI.

OK, done with my rant, thanks for coming, drive through please.

Yeah I did live there, it was like a cross between The Twilight Zone and Deliverance. On your offer, I'll need $1,010.00. No tire kicking! :pound-hand:

It’s in my blood too. My dad was an engineer and I was around 5 or 6 he bought me an electronics kit that you built circuits. In the basement he had a good sized work bench and jars and jars of stuff. Resistors, caps, knobs, screws, bolts, washers, you name it. So I inherited those same genes, before I throw anything away I strip it for its hardware. Heck, I even have my 8th grade woodshop project, a poplar wood box, my 9th grade metal shop project, a punch, my 8th grade art project, a 15 inch mirror ball, etc...

My shed and office are more a toss it and and see where it lands affair---hoping to find it again one day when needed....I KNOW I had a crescent wrench...... oh look there, er no--- wait I last saw it......out by the chicken coup...........

I find no desire to have a ton of gear. In fact, I even become uneasy when I have client's gear piled up in my space....

Several of these guitars belong to clients...

I own only 4 guitars...
