How to rotate newly-skewed pics in an old thread?

Was revisiting an old thread and about half the pics I posted a couple of years ago are now upside down.

There's a Rotate button, which lead to options for clockwise, counterclockwise, or 180°.
A cool option, but clicking the buttons doesn't seem to do anything: returning to the thread, the pics are still oriented wrongly.

Is there a trick to using the Rotate button? or is it a next-stage function that simply hasn't been enabled yet?
Is there a way to correct all the skewed pics?

Not sure if threads that old can be edited?

Right. I checked and there's no Edit button for those old posts.
Still, the pics were right side up before. Maybe there's a way to restore them to their original state?

Tried the Rotate button on a more recent post and, while it will rotate the tiny thumbnail displayed on the Rotate page, it doesn't affect the image in the post. (Right-click and selecting Open Image only opens the rotated thumbnail, not the full-sized one.)

some of my recent posts have photos that are also upside down or sideways.
I didn't upload them that way, and they weren't that way right after my posts were posted.

There is some glitch in this website which has done this. Our fearless leader suggested I re-upload them correctly, and I haven't taken the time to do it.
But if there are old posts with the pictures cuckoo, then those can't be edited.

I didn't want to complain too much because I'm grateful to our admins for providing this web site gathering place. This is one of the best fora I've ever been on. So I'm not getting bitchy.

But I would like my photos to look right. *smiles
What can we do to help? (I know... send money)

Did this ever get resolved?

Let me know where the inverted pics are and I'll see what I can do.

I thought it was because we switched to an Australian server.

Here's one of my recent threads that has sideways pictures... most of them are okay, but some are sideways.

New (Journey) Acoustic Guitar day

Well and so... People have been discussing G.A.S. in my presence, and I had held myself aloof from the syndrome, thinking that since I'm retired I don't NEED any more guitars. I still own (count them) eight acoustic and electric ladies. So it's true: I don't NEED any more. Wouldn't y'all like...

Thanks!. It's got to be some sort of system error.
Not asking for them all to be corrected individually; way too much trouble - they're not worth that kind of time.
(They're not really even worth the time it took to list them...)
Still, perhaps the glitch that's doing this could be found & fixed?

Here's what I found scrolling through the thread "Food & Drink Funnies, post 'em here."

skewed pics in posts 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 22, 23, 24, 29, 31, 33, 43, 45, 47, 51, 52.

pics in posts 88-111 are missing, replaced by sequential numbers - perhaps casualties in last year's culling of overly large images?
But I don't think they were actually that big...

posts 187 through 207 show the file names, but trying to right-click/open image leads to the oops page.

skewed: 263, 264, 265, 266, 269. 270, 271, 282, 284.

285, 286, 287, 288: file names but no pics

skewed: 289, 291, 292, 293, 302, 303, 306, 307, 308, 309, 310, 311, 321, 322, 324, 325, 326, 327, 328, 329, 323, 324, 325, 326, 349.


Again, not asking for anybody to address each individual image. But maybe the system problem could be identified.
And perhaps the Rotate button could be enabled?

You flatter me! I’m not an admin; I’m just a mod, but I can do simple things like that.

Addressing the actual cause is something @WavMixer or @AndyB will have to investigate. But, I would encourage patience. Sometimes, troubleshooting things like that can be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Evidently the Rotate function has been enabled/fixed! Now we can fix the skewed pics on our own, I think.
I reloaded the page and they seem to stay corrected. :)
