How I come up with song ideas

I am going to bring a very sloppy clip of how I end up putting a song together.
My clip has a bunch of (fishing) as I call it.
it has mistakes and flubs, but it is going to turn into a song that I am going to call Riffs.

I'm definitely going to listen to this! Unfortunately my wife is snoring away right next to me in bed, right now...so what I'll do is listen first thing when I awaken. Don't need any grief about it, right now lol.

Interesting thread topic though. I have had inconsistent results when it comes down to "formulas", so to speak. What worked for one song may completely not work for the next,...

Thanks JG , this is the way all of my pieces come together.
The riff is a piece that came off the top of my head, as a warm up.
And it felt like it needed more attention, so I played around with it for about 20 minutes.
And this is what came out.

Today....drummed for a bit

came up an idea, plugged Kramer in Super Reverb(odd huh) noodled..to the patterns i just made

came up with dominant chorus riff progression & then playing around that theme..tied in verse structure

now i have 2 constants

while this is all fresh..we on about 3 hours now

went and made the drum tracks based on a whole song committed to memory...so i almost leave the reality i am in....as an hour goes by that & thatwhole song structure is in Reaper now with the drums & the markers placed for the parts......this next one is going to be my most experimantal one yet..just ran those last 10 songs..seems i do about 10 songs..sorta tied together-so used to making a CD around a theme I guess) just ran that group of guitars&amps-chords used for those 10 to the done ..never going back to that place musically-lyric wise or the gear used..must change..so some guitars will go now & new ones in...it helps..more than anything..every piece of new gear..as soon as i get it...new material..i am fortunate to have never played covers or took lessons...i make what i feel vs other stuff..never wanted to be stuck in someone elses patterns..they hard to break..

Now a new theme has developed off this first one and about 10 will follow as i landed upon a topic to carry the song writing for the batch...off that 1 drum beat this morning came 3 songs...so my brain is very focused....can not wait to retire..then the phone wont be ringing every 10 min...i absolutely can do this all day every day...but i can not force it..if i do it will show in the song....

Excellent BFT, I am always looking for your latest songs, don’t think I have missed any.
I had not had any decent new material in some time.
My Utube channel has a number of tidbits, but I haven’t been putting anything together.
I am hoping to change that, with this newer addition, I am going to call Riffs.
