Hendrix MOJO

Guys, this thread doesn't have a video yet but I will certainly record every rehearsal of this song until one day I can repeat what I just did and feel as good as I did today again.

I came home after meeting one of the girls I'm seeing, quite an ordinary day, about 10 pm... and picked up the red strat. Plugged it in, and began fooling around with Voodoo Child's intro, just rocking the crybaby back and forth... Feeling the rythm.

You see this is a very easy song to play badly, and just as difficult to ROCK.

I am a very poor Hendrix player, and improvising ain't quite my thing, I come from classical guitar and I usually play everything very smooth and kinda by the book.

Well, tonight I was inspired by the mojo of this song and oh boy, I squeezed and milked that e-minor pentatonic. I soloed like I never did before, it was almost like having an orgasm, just letting the semen flow and feeling the moment. A simple, but VISCERAL solo pattern.

Every riff I made up on Jimi's stuff just made sense, you know? And hell, I ain't even drunk.

I finished the song with another set of the intro riffs and closed with a thunder sounding E7(#9) with the crybaby off..l put the guitar in the case, lit a cigarette and stood there still, wondering if I was gonna wake up and realize it had been just a dream, 'cause I don't usually play so easy and loaded with feelings.

Man, this song is an immortal Stratocaster anthem, it oozes mojo.

I GOTTA get this on record.

Had to share.

Thing is, it wasn't a particularly special date. Nor someone I'm in love with... I mentioned the date just to tell the whole story, it was no big deal.

I guess it was jst the right time and place to pick up the guitar and switch on the wah wah...

Maybe you just broke through a barrier. There are those days when the next level just kicks in.

Maybe it was one of those days when you were in the the right groove, your playing went to another level and the music flowed from your fingertips.
These moments happen to those who are talented and creative. Just enjoy it.

You were channeling the Guitar Gods; tuned to the Jimi station.
Those Ancient Alien guys discuss moments of inspiration that may have come from "somewhere else" by Einstein and Tesla.
