Can never be too early to start planning for the summer months.:rolf:

And while we aren't even close yet in normal winter snow fall, I have cleared more snow from my drive and sidewalk by the end of December than all last winter.

We have a saying around here; if you don’t like the weather, just wait an hour. By the time you get here it could be like:

We have had more snow so far this year, than I have seen in the past 25 years, and record cold temps. Well they came out with the new 2026 summer forecast.

You're so right, here it started to snow November 1st and we only had 4 days without since. Really hoping for La Nîña
next year !!!

Hard to think of Fri AM right now too....

Holy poop @Jethro Rocker. Here in northern Illinois we’re looking at feels like temps near 40 below. But real temps are at least in the negative teens (F). Stay safe man. Those kinda real temps is scary stuff.

But I think I’ll take the cold vs the potential ice storm they are predicting for south of Illinois. Last I heard there was the potential for up to 3” of ice. A normal ice storm would be like 1/4-1/2”. If 3” happens…. Predictors are already saying there may be some areas out of electricity for weeks.

Yup. Stay indoors where possible. Dress in layers and huge coats. Ice storm? Nothing you can do.

Fortunately for us. Any precip we get will be snow. Far enough north we really don’t see many true ice storms. But parts of KY, TN and region are the ones with the possibility of a major ice storm this weekend.

And yes. All one can do if they have to get out is add another layer or two.
