Guitar Center stopped carrying Fulltone pedals

Wow. Go ahead. Do a search. I'll wait. Even used pedals are gone.

They did it because a comment was made by a Fulltone executive. Just a statement, not a judgement.

I saw that yesterday as well. It was the head guys twitter posts. Seemed to me GC got a little twitchy .

Did you read what he said? Wrong is wrong. He'll never get another cent of my cash.
IMO, what Mr. Fuller said initially about looters doing what they wanted, is pretty much the truth. It seems that after his initial statement, he got a little silly in trying to defend himself.

Lots of business owners in the Santa Monica area were completely devastated because of the looting and vandalizing. Other employees of these destroyed businesses have no jobs to go back too. How could the city of Santa Monica not be prepared for what was a sure thing to happen.

Yeah, I had not read any of it before seeing this, this morning...I’ve recently been getting the shop ready for reopening yesterday. I’m off today, and just now digesting this. It seems that there may be some “out of context” quoting going on in this situation. That doesn’t make anyone right, it makes me suspicious when full context is not presented. Ugly is ugly though.

If you're not P.C. these days, you're in for trouble.

YUP Look at Drew Brees. Also to answer Gball's question. No, I have not read what Fulltone said. I just saw a synopsis of what GC did and why.

Also look at how it happened in our very own forum with a few former members. At least 5-6 that I know of are no longer welcome and no longer choose to frequent or support TTR because of a combination of free speech vs rules enforcement factors, etc.

For fear of violating the ANTI political laws of TTR, I even hesitate to add anything regarding the Fulltone/vs Protesting/BLM, Liberal Agenda, IF one is not PC, you're in trouble these days. etc etc.

But, I will say that while doing my own research about current events regarding the state of our USA post George Floyd.
I saw one particular average JOE black man voice his take on things. He had a pretty good insight on the whole picture the USA is currently in. I have to say I truly agree with and give his viewpoint. He expressed how wrong it was that Mr Floyd was basically murdered and that no one else should suffer likewise, but...

My point and I will summarize his too, was his way of saying in respects to this pressure to attribute all the woes to our rampant unlawful killings and bigotry towards blacks, Jews, transvestites, etc etc that will never go away unless we beat the drums, force others to do so and or censure any and all who do not walk like Socialists deem is the only accepted manner or face the consequences. His message as a black man says all these protests and carrying on totally misses the target and therefore the real solution. He basically was saying if our country is on a sinking ship, focus on stopping the leak, fixing the damage and not making a big deal of who to blame, why certain people should not fix it, and why this and why that... He then went on to say, only once the ship is back on track and not in danger (the macro side of things), then we address remedies to the micro side of problems. Now is not the time to be in the blame game.

Since it seems the popular solution is not to really have a solution other than to blame and vilify others for bigotry or other injustices. To lump all who fit the stereotype as to be essentially the root cause for all the country's wrongs seems to be the M. O. Easy fix, simply find a Martyr, get the media and certain Pols and Hollywood behind it, beat the drum to prove the plight of the down trodden is someone else's fault. When peaceful 1st amendment rights become looting, violence, retaliation/ lawful protests, blaming whitey, President Trump and anyone who does not march to the popular opinion of what is deemed right and what is wrong, then I am afraid, we are destined to no longer be a country and the ship WILL sink.

In case anyone here thinks I am anti black, Jew, Catholic, Mexican, Indian etc etc, don't even go there. I have been an equal opportunity HUMAN to all humans all my life. We all just have to treat each other that way, and not to rape and pillage and rob and commit acts of violence whether we are white, black, hispanic, asian etc. I just think something like GC ridding themselves of all dealings with the Fulltone's of the world, is akin to blaming a ship's captain for all the water coming through a hole in the ship, then the crew telling him they won't bail, because he is white and they are Black, Chinese, Irish or any other oppressed peoples...

No one here in their right mind can ever accuse you of being a real racist. But the Mob Rules. And if you disagree with anything about the Mob's agenda, then you're automatically deemed a racist.

Guitar Center's motives are pure survival instincts. They need to submit to the Mob to keep their stores and business from destruction.

I love it! I've been using this very same analogy for the situation for a long time now!

i get the full picture everyday... my job brings me to everybody... it's off the charts officially now.

@chilipeppermaniac, although I am replying to your post here, this is not a direct reflection on you or your post, but it seems to me this topic needs to be addressed. I recall these incidents that you speak of and I remember what led up to most of them. For a while we had this a total free (for all) speech forum. Some of our musician family conversations went from music related discussions to flame fests about various topics such as gun control and patriotism for our American members that celebrate 4th of July. We lost some members that I miss and have tried to invite some of them back. Some forums have members that get into heated debates as to which is better, Gibson or Fender, Fender or Squire, Gibson or Epiphone. For the most part the only cork sniffing here is from the bottle of maple syrup Godins are known to smell like :p

I'm proud of the way that this forum respects and even embraces our differences. However once conversations start getting into political debates, names get called, feelings get hurt, friendships start getting stressed and ending. If a member threatens to shoot another member, correct, they are no longer welcome here. We started this forum with no rules and members tried testing to see how far they could go and how much they could get away with. @RVA , @eSGEe and myself have spent countless hours building this site to what it is. We have provided this place to y'all free of charge and the only thing we ask from y'all is to play nice with others, be respectful and treat each other as you would like to be treated. We don't like having to tell members how to behave. We don't like losing members. We don't like members getting butt hurt over what another member posted. So if someone is looking for a forum that has freedom of speech to flame another member, this is not it. This doesn't mean they are not welcome here, it means that they are not welcome to flame other members. Have we tabooed certain subjects that have proven to lead to flame wars in the past? Yes we have. Do these subjects need to be discussed here? I think not. Are there other forums that are designed to speak of politics, racism, gun control, social injustice, police brutality, drug use, hatred? Sure there are plenty of other forums better suited for this. Music is the universal language. If you could put Ted Nugent on stage with John Lennon, they could make some beautiful music together. Take their guitars away and have them talk about guns, they might very well have extremely opposite opinions. It is my belief if we can keep this forum focused on music, we will all get along better. Is there a national, even world shut down due to COVID-19? Hell yes, just turn on the TV. Are there protests around the world after the death of George Floyd caused by a policeman? Yes, yes there are. Turn on any TV and you can get your eyes and ears full of it. You don't trust the regular media? Turn on George Noory and Coast to Coast AM for a different point of view, he has a forum that is hot on this topic.

If y'all want a forum where you can discuss all of these non-musical topics and can't find one, I can build it for you. I do this for a living and if you would like to hire me to build an off-topic forum that leads to flame fests. I'll happily build it for you. Illuminati? Flat Earth? God? Gun Control? Democrat vs. Republicans? Roe vs. Wade? I'm up for building a forum for any/all of these topics. Send me a PM and I'll give you a price quote to build it. As for this site all I ask is "Can't we all just get along?"

Wav, I appreciate your message above and yet on at least 4 of the resigned, banned, or somehow no longer with us members, I only mentioned the occurrences because I am aware they exist and happened. Yet, I know no specific reasons or details such specific threads, topics, confrontations etc. In other words, what transpired to bring on the departures I am totally in the dark. I totally missed what was going on in what must have been divine intervention to protect me as " the innocent"

I do know that the forum has certain taboo topics such as politics, and in most instances where it even gets close to mentions of anything political, I have seen swift heh hemms from a mod or 2 to nip it in the bud or else. I usually refrain from any marginal topics.
Anyhow, I chose to express a simple observation based on current events and someone with a first hand at being Black experience. I found his demeanor refreshing. His life experiences and knowledge as credible and his rational message of positive vs poorly aimed actions as actually sensible measures vs emotion charged, ill timed or even illegal and foolish behavior such as looting and burning one's own neighborhood etc. I really can't see how some folks think will fix something.

Anyway, unless I finish here and find my original post blacklisted, I am assuming I did not bring down the hammer on myself.

Thanks McB.

I may be just a limited in mind and experience type man who can't draw blood, do MRI's, Fix a robotic manufacturing machine, build amps from scratch, write divorce documents or write code to make a website tick, but, I do sometimes have good natural insights and instincts at seeing a problem and analyzing where the failures lie and how to correct them.

For example, I have only worked for one employer with nationwide offices, one local car dealer, and a few short term stints in a couple construction companies. Yet, I can see a poorly managed entity such as a college a friend has worked at in admin for over 10 years. As she tells some events at the school, I shake my head at all the nit picking, red tape, wasteful and just stupid policies, strategies and infrastructure processes that they utilize, keep, :poo:can, implement, etc etc. I often wonder, how any real work, real teaching , real progress ever gets done with all the turmoil, snafus, poor hirings and firings they make in hopes to " improve the school's effectiveness, bottom line, mission statement." \

If I can see it as a lay person, I sure wonder why these people making the big bucks can't see it when they are educated in the education business and I am just a simple carpenter.

This is not a jab message at Wav or TTR, just a message about sinking ship type scenarios.
