Right now I am pushing - pushing - pushing for a Casino gig...This venue is less than 10 miles from my pad. Full Restaurant and Bar, 225 seats, 5,500 sq/ft. It's owned by Gene and Paul:

For most cover bands, they pay about $1,500.00/weeknight (split 4 ways that $375.00/night) and most cover bands work the circuit - that's 5 to 6 nights a week working 5-6 different area casinos - so you can easily make $1,800 - $2,500/week as an individual guitarist. Now, certain acts, ones that really have a huge draw - like, lets say a Beatles Tribute, that amount goes way up.

I did this for a while playing 'Don Felder' in an Eagles Tribute Band (temporary gig while their guy recovered from major surgery) that worked the casino circuit. I loved it. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

This is how my stint as 'Don Felder' went. We played 6 days a week - a different casino in the area every night - and we played (3) one-hour shows each weeknight and added an extra half hour to 45 minutes on Fridays and Saturdays.

Each work day, you got your own room at the casino hotel, with all your food and drink covered. You only signed for whatever you got - and I never abused this privilege - although some do and the casino does not put up with any sort of B.S. not even for one minute. A good reputation goes a long ways here in this arena.

My pay was $950.00/week and we routinely split whatever tips came in. So, you could say that this is my current goal.

I am encouraging the other guys to get on board, but they don't seem too excited about it, because their goal is to play their original works. That's cool and all, but nobody is going to pay you $1,000/week (or more) for your original songs, unless you hit with a top 40 single.

We have a gig on Friday at the Viking one time some lady wanted all Led Zeppelin songs whipped out $10K in cash
Got me a new PA system. one other time all people from Spain played Latin Jazz the drum set was covered in $100.00 dollar bill's.
Other than that it's like the wild west you never know.

I've got two Rock and Brews a short distance from where I live, one in Redondo and the other in El Segundo. They both suck (and ironically rarely play rock). The one you show in these pics looks worlds better.
