forum fatigue

Those of you who have been on other guitar forums with me - for example everythingsg and the Bare Knuckle forum - might know me as having been fairly active on forums on the past. This is becoming less and less the case. A few months ago I decided to stop visiting everythingsg, and simply deleted the bookmark from my browser in order to quietly disappear. I've just done the same now with the BKP forum. The problem is dickheads. Those of us here who came here from everythingsg know what I am talking about. There were certain people who seemed to exist to irritate others. BKP forum is a bit different. The regular membership are all fantastic - though declining in numbers - really helpful people who unfortunately attract douchebags to the forum who pretend that they are seriously considering buying a set of BKPs, ask for advice, second-guess that advice, then ask about a different set until almost every set in the catalogue has ben discussed, then do something irritating like buying a Lace pickup or something instead after pestering us for weeks. Don't get me wrong, I don't care whether they buy BKPs or not, I just get annoyed about the million questions and constantly being thanked for advice, that advice being ignored, new advice being sought, ad infinitum. After the most recent case of some French douchebag with an SG I give up. So I have deleted that bookmark as well.

Here I mainly look at the amp and pedal threads. I haven't looked at a guitar or bass thread in a long while. If I one day disappear altogether it will be because of fatigue. Facebook is enough work for me :-/

Hopefully we can keep that from happening Dave......we tend to remove douchebags rather quickly :)

Your input on all things pedal.....and helping us to keep Gasket in line just because your close enough to pay him a "visit" ....are very valuable assets :)

You're mistaken, Dave is from Adelaide, that's like a part of England that happens to be geographically attached to Australia.
They don't even talk like the rest of us. Adelaide is famous for Alexander Downer OMG!!! ;-)

Alexander Downer is from the old aristocracy that settled in the eastern part of the city, very far removed from my social circles ... despite the fact that I live in the southern-most part of his former electorate (which is a very large area)

I figured everybody knows everybody else country towns.

Haaa haaa only joking, I know Adelaide isn't all THAT small it must have a few hundred people these days ;-)

I appreciate you being here and on ETSG as well. I like the valuable messages you contribute and how you add to the knowledge people can count on from you. Like Gahr said, pedals. In my case it was the P bass Hipshot bridge info. But best of all, you are the opposite of those folks you described. A Non Richard.

I know the "Frenchie" of which you speak. i left ETSG quite a while ago and the Marshall amp forum as well. Too much negativity and personal tastes passed off as fact.

You are a wise and valued contributor here. Always look forward to your posts and musings....

Ha! Try to impress me with a spike heel in 10-1/2EE! Well, had it been a Christian Loboutin, I might have been impressed... :-)

OMG...if I wanted to see Alex Downer in his heels and stockings I’d join a Young Liberals forum
