FINALLY!!!

MAN, the taxes on 1m plus must be insane too.
Property taxes were $14K a year on that place along with $4300 a year for the HOA. This place was a steal last year and now with the basement almost finished it’s over 4200 sq ft and a garage just a little larger than the last one. Property taxes only $6.2K a year, HOA $144 per year. Retirement planning !

The place I’m selling has no HOA, but my new house does. But, it’s only $120.00 per year and it’s not oppressive.

On the flip side, I paid for city water and sewer on the old place, but my new place has a well and a septic system, so no water bill. The septic inspection came back with a really good report and the well pump was replaced just before we moved in.

Yep, our housing market has gone insane. We sold our Anaheim Hills home, 3600 sq ft, 4 car garage, on 27,000 sq ft lot (half a it a slope), last March for $1.3M which was on the top end then. These are the Zillow estimates today.:run:

It floors me that those homes on those tiny lots are running in the $1.5 million range!

When I first went to California in the 80's, I think I was under the impression that if one had a 1.5 million house, that was usually for a demolition special where the new owners would put up 8 million dollar monstrosities in the postage stamp lot they essentially paid the 1.5 for.
