Fender Strat 1978

A local FB seller has a 1978 Stratocaster for $1200. Might be $200 more than I would offer.

I am building a parts caster that should very much resemble the real thing and all US parts expect the bridge and maybe small stuff.
The guitar has a nice look to it but the headstock is Telecaster , maybe he cut it ?
The headstock has a crack in line with tuners that was glued ( not very well)

I’ll say the break was poorly glued. I’m no good at wood work…. But even I can do a better job than that.

I'm assuming the photo is of your actual parts caster. I really like both the grain and the finish. Looks nice.

I love the guitar but essentially paying $1200 for a body is more than I would care to invest.
I went with the least expensive route just to see if I notice any difference in my budget Harley Benton and the better parts caster.
If I was going to buy the real deal, there are so many good models used.
I did find this interesting .

There's no way I would pay that much for a guitar with a crack like that.

You're going to spend $250 for a new neck, and $250 worth of labor to change it out and set it up again.
Maybe $700 for that axe on a good day.
Gotta change the tuners to good ones, gotta shield the insides....$1200 is wholly unrealistic.
