That’s part of the mapping of curvature on the lens surfaces that eliminates the presence of a visible line denoting the different powers required for clear near vs clear distance vision for the particular patient.Yes. They are progressive lenses. It also works if I rotate my head so I'm looking through the soft focus area near the edge of the lens.
