I literally got new glasses today, and I see Einstein.

If I take my glasses off I see Monroe.

Yes. They are progressive lenses. It also works if I rotate my head so I'm looking through the soft focus area near the edge of the lens.

Yep. That’s part of the mapping of curvature on the lens surfaces that eliminates the presence of a visible line denoting the different powers required for clear near vs clear distance vision for the particular patient.
