evidence: a speaker change changes tone

Evidence? Tone is probably determined - from most to least effect by:
Speaker
picking position on string
Pickup type (single coil/humbucker)
Strings
Pick thickness
Don't forget the tailpiece, Don! ;) Grooviness and quality of tone determined, from best to worst, by:
SOLID GOLD
Gold
-plated aluminum
Aluminum
Steel
Zinc
Brass

I'm a big fan of Warehouse speakers...
Of course I also think spray paint, tissue paper, elmer glue, and contact cement makes for a groovy speaker too ;)
Having HEARD one like that I would have to agree

After lots of consideration, I had Trevor English at WGS build me a custom 50 watt Reaper HP with a 55Hz cone for my DSL40C.

Just the speaker swap alone - without any other changes - totally changed the tone of my amp....

Well, this is kinda of a "Duh" moment. Of course, a change to a totally different speaker will alter the tone. The stock speaker on this Fender Mustang sounds pathetic compared to the WGS British Lead.

Agreed...I guess I should rephrase. The WGS Reaper 55Hz speaker swap on my DSL40C produced an articulation and presence I had not expected. It was dramatic.
