Epiphone wraparound bridge upgrades

As long as I have my Epi Special I in pieces (see mod thread) I was thinking about upgrading the wraparound. The problem is that I dismantled this ax before I could give the stock bridge a chance. So has anyone upgraded their Epiphone wraparound? If so, what did you install and did you notice a differnce?

Thanks

Bumpity. I am thinking about a Wilkinson. The badass has too many moving parts for me and I want to keep it pure wraparound. Hey, I am talking to myself!!

I think Drbgood used a tonepros.....seems like someone did ......damn "sometimers"

Yep, done - $19 with shipping! Thanks
Trigger happy ? Sorry to say, but you just wasted $19.
I could have sent you one for free, that you in turn, would have put in your parts bin like I did.

This thing is faulty by design. You can't get proper intonation with it. Look at the difference between the stock lightning low E saddle and the Wilkinson's. To try to get there, you have to push the Wilkinson back so far on the post, that it wants to fall off.

It might work on certain guitars, but not on Epiphones. Tried on my Special 1 and P90 SG and it didn't fit.

I can find nothing wrong with the stock one what needs replacin'.
Nuttin' wrong with the stock nut on mine either.
I'm nuts about Tusq XL nuts, but not if the nut dont need nuttin'.

But if you do, Bgood's bridge recommendation sure is the way I would go.

I did note that the MLP guys used the Wilkinson on this very guitar, but B.Good's logic is sound. I may have to try t just to see what happens.

I stole the bridge off my Epi Jr to replace a Tonepros with a broken saddle on a Gibson SG. It was going to be a temporary fix but it worked so well I left it on the SG. It intonates well and sounds great. I ordered a cheap $9.00 lightning bar from Hong Kong on eBay. It looks to be exactly like the original Epi bridge. It fit perfectly and intonates as well as the original on the Epi. Here's a picture of the Epi bridge on the Gibson. This guitar rocks by the way. It has some Sigil "Lips Kudlow" signature pickups in it. They can take any amount of gain and not get too muddy.
