ELECTRIC TRUCK!? BLASPHEMY!

whats the dimensions on that MEsa???? ;)

yes the Chinese.......building more infernal combustion than the U.S. --- they are on board for electric ;)

In 2018, approximately 23.5 million passenger cars and 4.3 million commercial vehicles had been produced in China. With a production volume China ranked first.

Vs 17 million in the US

HEll gball we will still be arguing about this in a decade----

just send me the Mesa now and SAVE $$$ on freight because IT WILL BE HIGHER in a decade :)

There's already a lot of ink on this (and this is, again, just one of many sources):

China Could Be The World's First All Electric Vehicle Ecosystem

The US will doggedly resist change, that's what we do, but we will ultimately be "forced" to reckon with our bad decisions. The only thing we currently lead the World in is ways to kill people.

Like I said, the Millenials are going to be making these decisions, not the old guys. And they are sick of our sh!t.

YEs millenials are pure as driven snow--- none like cars or engines or things that varoom--- all are above self gain and "anything for a $" --- and they all have impeccable work ethics and drive-----

So if you ship the Mesa today......................Id say what Monday it will be here????

Wheres that dust mop ???? Want the spot to be nice and clean ---:D:D-- note I used "green smilies" -- for effect ;)

Don't underestimate them. The Boomers underestimated us, remember? Point is, between those Boomers and our generation, we've done a pretty good job of mucking up the World for those that are coming after us, and they don't have the luxury of time to wait for someone else to clean up the mess as we did. It's quite clear that if humanity simply stays the course the damage will be irrevocable, and those Millenials that are so easy to malign know full well what's in store for them as they age if they don't take action.

Well I have 3 millennial living with me now (and their kids) because they cant make it --- my Neighbor has 2 -- the one on the other side 1--- across the street--- 2--- next to them 2--- and on and on------they might get their shite together ----

We are seeing the results of the "everyone gets a trophy for showing up and we dont keep score" generation-----Im not impressed---
we are hiring at my company--- cant get applicants-- no one wants WORK they want a check but not to work--I could sell (and make) 2x's what I am -- but I cant get the work produced for lack of WILLING laborers---again yes they MIGHT get there acts together---someday---

AND -- THANK YOU GBALL-- for making some great points W/ corroborative info--and furthering this discussion --- (and for the Mesa I know I am going to LOVE IT) -- it is intelligent (gball, Session5, grump---not me) debate and conversation that GETS these ideas out and discussed....and ads interest and color to our forum---

(I AM NOT BEING SARCASTIC) --- usually but not right now ---

Cheers--- other forums would have had this a name calling ball of ignorance by post three (I waited till post 5) --- no really -- good on everyone here

I get it, but I'll make the same argument: A lot of people tried to extrapolate the universal about us, as a generation, from anecdotal experiences when we were young. I think we, as a generation, managed to prove them wrong and in the end it all worked out. We also haven't experienced any real crisis in our lifetimes, not the existential kind. But the Millenials are faced with one, and although its not of their own making they either deal with it or perish. I know enough of them to have faith that they will make the necessary revisions to the status quo.

--- you need to stop typing and thinking so much and get that Mesa boxed up--- its not gonna WALK here to the swamp--

I am all for moving forward with alternative energy sources and toward an ever cleaner / sustainable environment.
As that technology becomes more viable; transition to it as it can shoulder more of the load.
When it can do the job, a reduction of (not the abandonment) of fossil fuels sounds great to me.

If we could safely harness and contain nuclear power that would be wonderful (and find a way to re-use or neuter the spent fuel rods, etc.)
I thought sh*t would be like the Jetsons by now, wtf?

I feel sorry for the aliens that eventually find that Mars Rover Curiosity, sumbitch is nuclear.
Ahhh, they will probably know how to deal with it.

Some propose almost all powered personal and much commercial conveyance will be replaced by hi-speed rail, sooner than later, here in the not so United States of America.
Political utopian idealogy is pushing this agenda; technology is struggling to keep up.

The younger folks who will eventually come into power have mostly been indoctrinated with a certain way of elitist, emotion driven social justice way of thinking and decision making.

They are not open to others who would disagree and their inferior differing, deplorable viewpoints.
The ones who most demand tolerance are indeed themselves the most intolerant.
That is a factual observation based on the many and ever increasing instances of college campus protests and / or physical disruption of events or physical assault of anyone or anything they disagree with and label it as hate speech, by way of much virulent attack speech of their own.
And then there is the lack of condemnation of such acts.

So, these are the people who will be making decisions, writing legislation, and modifying the US Constitution / Bill of Rights as they see fit.
Many have stated so: claiming these documents are "living, breathing" and need to change as times change.

Maybe these are the most extreme examples and cooler constitutional heads will prevail.
But that seems to be the direction things are moving in.

The Millennial kids have another name...Boomerang...because when you toss them out they keep coming back.

...and with people in power saying that robots taking over all the jobs is a good thing so we can concentrate on art and some self
awareness crap we won't need cars at all because no one will have any $$$ to go anywhere.

that is a good example of utopian speak that just makes no sense in the real world.
So do they believe it, or think they have everyone else fooled?

It is much like drug pushers giving you some free dope to get you hooked, like what has happened with the endless cycle of poverty of people who have been subsidized by the US government for decades: the poor segment of the black community.
Now they are just promising them MORE free stuff.
I love what MLK stood for and hate those racist scumbags in the south at the time.
But this is not what he envisioned, which was equal opportunity, not equal outcome or enslavement to the government.

...and now I know the reason for this. My generation is fffffading away and I will be happy to go with it.

Our time is in twilight but my children will have to deal with it.
The new racism is becoming discrimination of the fabrication called "white privilege", and fervently pursued by those who claim to be against racism in the first place.

The ones I speak to daily-----spew thoughts that do not make sense they are not BAD thoughts and they ARE "greener more touchy feely lets all get along" thoughts-- but they just arent "functional" in real application -- mostly becasue of those oither things I was on about-- primarily ---greed--

they talk "one economy and food for all and no one homeless"

but they dont know HOW to grow food--- or HELP (actually help) the homeless--- or how to FIX any of the REAL problems -- or ANYTHING for that matter-- "physical labor-- how horrible"
they "see a better future" --- well -- I see wining the lottery and getting gballs Mesa -- but those aint happening either -- so-- there ya go

they talk "one economy and food for all and no one homeless"-- but NONE are giving up there cell phones --or 7.00 Starbucks Crap a frap a paccinos to FEED them --so-- they will RELUCTANTLY -- like US fall in line-- we all do -- WE REBELLED against NOT HAVING ANYTHING TO REBEL against--- and look where we are--- ugh -- we are old ---

I guess it's a good thing I have two daughters and they are both 1/2 Korean and look just as Asian as American. So maybe they'll squeak by the reverse racism...that is until
they speak. Then their Conservative upbringing will "Out" them.

they will RELUCTANTLY -- like US fall in line-- we all do -- WE REBELLED against NOT HAVING ANYTHING TO REBEL against--- and look where we are--- ugh -- we are old ---

This is the BIGGEST TRUTH! Look at all the 60's hippies and flower children who went on to have corporate jobs that went against everything they believed in as kids!

Hell I was a rebellious kid and I was against the system...UNTIL I got into the REAL world and started working for a living. Now I abhor the thought of giving my hard
earned money to all the lazy people that want to sit around and live off welfare. I'm actually surprised at how Conservative I have become...

:)

happenes to us all -- and it will happen to them to as I said -- they will EVENTUALLY fall in line-- rage against the machine takes energy -- -and the MACHINE never dies----

good luck millenials-- but you will be assimilated -- resistance is futile

How much is that little hot rod?
2 point something MILLION??? -- yep them will be clogging the I-4 interstate next week-------

Many folks realize this as they get out into "the real world" and "grow up".
I think this is what is being done - allow folks not NOT HAVE TO deal with "the real world" of paying for your own self AND YOUR children.
This way the subterfuge of idealistic views, devoid of those realities, can be maintained infinitum.

The greed of unchecked capitalism is just as bad - look at the industrial revolution where workers were treated and paid horribly
while the big shots competed for who could be the richest.
Similar, but modernized conditions are in play today.

AND the welfare system subsidizes them as well - they can pay people minimum wage or low wages and many of those folks - who are still low considered inccome - in many instances - qualify for housing, utility, etc. subsidies, food stamps, etc.
While I don't know all the details there was a story along these lines recently regarding Jeff Bezos of Amazon; one the richest men in the world.

EDIT: Sry this was started and not finished for a while and other posts veering away from this discussion posted. Not trying to pull it back there.

Technology moves much faster than it did when we were younger. A decade ago you probably couldn't have predicted the near universal adoption of smartphones, 20 years ago the near full integration of the Internet into almost every facet of our lives. This is the future (and in very real terms the future is dependent on it - when the current, er..."situation" in Washington is resolved its going to be Millenials setting policy, not the Boomers and not us) and us old luddites that still thing there is some kind of charm in the internal combustion engine are going to be left outside looking in.

And look what all this great technology has done for us Internet for one it has produced more thieves to be able to steal from you. More pedophiles to be able to lure kids. More kids watching pornography. Kids losing sleep from being constantly on those cell phones, and Computers, here in Canada the Government is taking away the cell phones in public schools, because the kids are not learning in class. Not to mention because of cell phones the kids don't want to talk to people they want to text or be on the phone. They have no idea how to communicate with people. Yes technology is good for some things like in medical field for example. When it comes to cars it will be good old gas for me til I leave this earth. As far as Millennials setting policy...……………….
