... and 2400 miles in an electric car, with a dog.

And we did it without buying a drop of fuel or having to pay a dime for charging, as the car has free lifetime Tesla supercharging as one of the perks.
But that's where the vacation ended.

Never again...

The dog was great. The car ran fine.
But stopping to charge every 200 or so miles, and finding suitable Tesla charging stations was a real pain in the a$$.

It did make us kinda sorta stop to smell the roses, as we weren't pushing to knock down 800 or so miles a day.
We'd have lunch or do some shopping while the car charged.
It also gave us a chance to take the dog for walks frequently, but I'll never do it again.
It took almost twice as long to get the same distances as a fuel vehicle with charging time vs refueling time.

As the wife's car for local daytrippin' it's been fine for the last two years, as we have a 50 amp charging station in the garage that tops the charge off overnight, but not for a trip from Florida to northern Kentucky and a tour of the Smokies hitting Savannah on the way back.

But we did get to visit with my aunt for a few days so it was time well spent.
And I did bring a nice Delta scroll saw & drill press home with me.

But next time we fly.

was there snow up there??????

I hear there is if you go North of the Fl/Ga line................are the people green? --- I dont leave FL ---

FYI -- the Patriot finish has set up NICELY --- what a BEastie!
and the SGJ has a BIGSBY ON IT now !!!
;)
No snow but I did get my share of 40 degree mornings in Ky.
And there were frost warnings in No. Carolina.

Saw some trees turning color and acres of cotton needin' pickin in Ga.

No green people either, that was a disappointment.

FROST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its HELL ! --- frozen HORRID HELL!

So glad you survived :)

I guess some might be a pale white color? -- no sun and all ---I was thinking of Mars on the green wait -- no those are red.....wait----
Damn brain freeze!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You boys are silly. So, Teslas have a 200 mile range at freeway speeds? That would be totally useless to me. I do see quite a few of them here in MN. Good band too.

My Triumph has a much better range on a tank ;)
43 mpg 265/270 outta a tank

very different from my old sportster which gave about 90 ish miles to a "peanut" tank --- but on a rigid mount sporty 90 miles --- your READY to get OFF and walk around a bit have a beer.....hand out a dollar bill or two....... then go to the next bar......

Sporties--- Americas Bar Hoppers since 1950 something.....its in the ads look it up--- lol

We have the small battery, 250 is about all you can stretch out of it.
We were hitting the charging stations with about 25 - 40 miles left for a safety cushion.
Recharge times were about an hour to an hour and a half.
Multiple that by about 12 charges and that's a lot of time wasted.

I love rigid mount Sportsters. Can't see anything in the mirrors when you are accelerating. My old Softail is a pillowy dream if we are doing comparisons.
