eBay site authentication PITA

I buy from eBay occasionally. I use a VPN and Firefox with zero previous browsing data saved. I'm always forced into calling a representative to verify my account I have had for seven years. Pain in the ass. I'll gladly do this rather than buy from Bezos the Clown. An eBay vendor saved me $17 over the current multi-vendor price for the 2 TB USB 3.2 SSD.

They have slowly streamlined the process and there is little or no wait time. Took less than five minutes. The nice helpful Indian guy told me he has requested to modify the account so the call will no longer be required. We will see, heard that one before.

Anyone else experience this?

I only buy from eBay when I can't find it anywhere else. I don't trust eBay, but I have no reason to feel that way, so far I've actually not had a bad experience.
Only one bad purchase. I was able to return for a full refund. Everything else has worked out well.

The shrug is broke, along with others. DunnoOld.gif Dunno1.gifshrug03.gif

Ebay, Amazon, Paypal and Reverb all have reprehensible customer service.
I have stopped using Ebay, Amazon and Paypal completely.
The best place to buy gear is from your local music store (or from members of Tone Rooms...).
The best place to buy auto parts is from your local parts professionals.
Big corporations suck; and they suck even more, every day.

At least Sweetwater recognizes that customer service customer loyalty --- as being important. And they strive to maintain that relationship. I have to (at least) admire that commitment.

Never had that issue, I quit selling on ebay around 2001 when any combination of sales over $20,000.00 per year reported to IRS
The last item I got was a DW Collectors drum set $5,000.00 it was damaged in shipping end of the day $1,000.00 paid.
