My daughter left for Namibia yesterday…she’ll be doing missionary and construction work for 6-8 weeks.

She said she wanted to go to her favorite Honky Tonk with her mom and me, so Sunday afternoon we hit Little Red’s Longhorns Saloon in the Fort Worth Stockyards and danced to a pretty good Ray Price/Johnny Bush-style honky tonk-infused-with-western-swing band before heading to Joe T Garcia’s for a late dinner.

Where i lived before here i attended a small town comunity Church. There was some missionaries that came and showed slids from there time in Paupa New Guinie.talk about culture shock. They still had Witch Doctors there and they were at odds with the Christian missonaries for teaching the good book there. Really makes you appreciate the ol USA

I miss Lone Star Beer.

I miss it too…but not enough to imbibe.

Got sober in 1998, and life is much better.

Plus, I found out I can act just as crazy when I’m stoned-cold sober and won’t have to deal with a hangover!
For sure. Way more fun to get stupid and be sober while doing it. I was one of those boring drunks. Lean me up in a corner and I’d go to sleep. Then I turned 21 and was legal. And pretty much quit drinking. Today I’ll have something. Be it a beer or cocktail. But it’s one and done.
