I just finished installing a magnetic pickup in my beat up 70s japanese acoustic.
I got the p90 on ebay for $20, which make it the most expensive thing in the photo, as the guitar was free (with broken neck, deformed top, and trashed bridge).
It wasn't super easy mounting the thing. it had to be mounted from below to add room for the strings, which was a problem because of the guitars narrow bracing, and because p90's were designed for top mounting. I had to modify the cover, abandon all hopes of a non invasive mod, and bolt it right to the guitars top.
I couldn't give it a full test because of the time, but it seems to sound pretty good. The guitar had a blusy sort of tone to start with, and the p90 complmemts that well. And when I tried a higher gain amp setting it really growled, so I think it'll be pretty good for a sort of classic rock rythem playing.
