This is what my Dad is going through for throat cancer...radiation every F'n day for a month!

He says he feels like he's on fire and eating is nearly impossible...

...and yesterday they had to have their dog put down because he jumped off the bed one to many times and damaged his spine. His little legs were of no use.

R.I.P Kash...

That pic of your Dad just freaks me out. I would not want to go thru what your Dad is going thru right now. Hopefully everything works out... :yesway:

Thinking about your Mom, too... :celebrate:

RIP Kash...

Thanks guys! We are a very strong and close knit family. We WILL beat this and carry on. My Dad beat Prostate Cancer 5 years ago and he will kick it's a$$ again...

It has been a rough go and a very emotional few months though. My brothers Dad just passed away a very short while back and I was very close to him too...

F Cancer! I'm sure you remember my holiday season last year when cancer took my daughter and two best friends in the following weeks. My prayers are with you and your family my brother! I'm taking Mrs. Wav in for a biopsy on her thyroid the day after Christmas. The doctor wants to cut it out of her! Without a thyroid she will have no immunity to anything.

This is what my Dad is going through for throat cancer...radiation

Very sorry that your dad and family are going through this tough time.
I hope this SHORT personal anecdote adds additional hope. My dad went through the same, his became additionally complicated but long story made short, it worked.
He eventually passed away from an unrelated condition.
Best wishes from Australia to your dad.

Very sorry to hear all this Chris. It sounds like they both are very strong and will pull through but wow what a battle. And to lose a comfort and friend like Kash along the way is even harder.
Prayers and good vibes sent your way and Northward to Ohio. Hope Dad kicks cancers as again!!!
Dad 2 cancer 0!!!! Rock on Dad!!!

Thank you all! This is such a great place to come and find support from friends around the world. Friends most of whom I never met, but are there for me
all the same! You are all such a fantastic group of people!

Is that large, red band across his neck a result of the cancer or the radiation?

Those are radiation burns. The inside of his throat is worse from what the doctors describe. The treatment is concentrated
to go right after the area where the cancer is inside the throat. He had to have a special mask made that he wears when
the radiation is applied. Eating is becoming very difficult and he had to actually go to some therapy sessions to learn how
to swallow during and after the treatments...
