But wait there’s this…Prisoner…

You have a studio??? We just have a small room.

Dude! I really dig your “small room”! I say studio….reality is….i have a basement. 24x26 feet were dedicated to music making, but with a washer and dryer present(I figure it was good enough for a Rush stage…). I bought this joint with the idea of dedicating most of the 24x36 foot walkout basement to making music, building and maintaining music gear, and keeping my shorts clean.

But it’s different now…post band. I have a home theater with a killer sound system…and no drums now. But most everything else is still there. The screen rolls up to get out of the way, and the projector is up near the ceiling…so…low impact on playing and recording. The bassist developed some serious hearing issues during the pandemic(really it was a long time coming) that make it impossible for him to get anything but suffering from making music. Without him, it’s not the same. He doesn’t even seem to like trying to make music acoustically. We’re all getting old. We had a lot of fun. Now, I just do my own thing…that’s whatever I feel like doing.

Looks like a lot of super fun toys.

Sorry for you and your bassist.

For a bunch of reasons, I did not get to play much when I was young. Bunch of reasons. I'm just hoping to get to play a little more and push out some more songs. Thankful to have found my peers and most of them are great humans. Makes the whole thing fun. We have to wait until September, by then we should be pretty good and have new songs recorded. We had a couple nicely done with the old drummer and intended to just go ahead and use them, but new drummer is so different there is no way you could have them all in the same release.

Tomorrow there is a big gig/party for my Son's friend in an up and coming band. They are about to go on a real tour. All those kids have been in my house, one of them quite a lot. At the same time, I don't feel like going to the Dallas "venue strip" and fighting for parking and end up in a lot that costs 20 bucks.

I keep a few small amps on one side of my recliner, and a guitar and bass(of the moment) on the other side. My favorite area of the universe, these days.
