Brembo

New caliper brake pads for high end bikes.

They have been the standard equipment on Ducatis, or the go-to upgrade since the late eighties. I remember that while U.S. bikers were upgrading the brakes on Harleys to Performance Machine in the eighties (me included), I found on a trip to Germany the upgrade was Brembo calipers with floating rotors. At one shop I worked at in the nineties, we would go with Brembo whenever possible, then go with Nissen as a plan B on race bikes. I would still love to put a set of upside down Ducati 916 forks with Brembo rotors and calipers on a Superglide. That was the big custom setup (along with polished aluminum gas tank) on Bikes in Germany in the late eighties. It's such a great look, along with exceptional braking and handling.

From a styling perspective, the Hypure differentiates itself from Brembo’s previous designs thanks to an asymmetrical body that makes the caliper look sleek and compact. Unlike the GP4-MotoGP, the Hypure is more road-focused, however Brembo says that the braking system provides “exceptional performance for both track and open roads.” We can expect to see this new Hypure caliper in mid to high-performance naked, sport-touring, and adventure-touring motorcycles in the near future.
