Blues and the Right Amp

Silvertone was built by Danelctro , the 1484 was supposedly available from Sears in the 60's Hence Mail order Twin. 2 channel.

The right amp for Blues is a loud amp so you can turn it up and make the guitar sing.
It does not matter if it overdrives that much but think of a Dumble Steel Singer which is a loud and clean sounding Fender amp but it overdrives in the right frequency bands.
But what do I know about Blues?
A big sounding amp is a good start for having great Blues tone.

Life is good,

I can not relly relate as well as most of the posts above have.
I am not a real blues player , I do like blues. I am just no expert.

The right amp for me is the one that sounds good to my ears. No matter how bad my hearing is. I guess what I played at the time I made the first post was what I liked. If I could change the Tittle I would.

Maybe something like:
Try This Silvertone 1884 and see if you like it as well as I do.
Beyond this.

I was not suggesting to go out and buy one but if you have a modeling amp you can try it.

I've played Blues and Jazz and Rock and Pop and dare I say, even Classical with all of these.
Super,-Deluxe,-VoxWEB-1.jpg

They performed admirably.
The trick I discovered, is found in those little knobs...ya turn em and the sound changes. Lets you adjust the sound to suit your wishes.

What'll they think of next!?!
(the two fenders are both from 67. I sold the little one a year ago...got a couple doses of chemo outta the deal ... yay!

The tall thing I put together for use with that little Vox Tonelab thing after I decided that the fenders were too damn nice to take into just anyplace. (a sound/lighting guy used the Super as a step stool one night. After the bass player threw his ass across the stage for that stunt I figured maybe I should limit where I take them)...did I mention it has wheels? )

You're not the only one who thinks Silvertone amps are good for blues. This is from the liner note on Hooker and Heat, a great blues album.

"Once at the studio, we tried out about eight really ancient amps before finding the one that had that real “Hooker” sound – a sound we hadn’t heard on John’s records for a long, long time. We built a plywood platform for John to sit on while he played. An old Silvertone amp rested a few feet away. One mike on the amp, one for his voice, and one to pick up John’s stompin’ – he never quits stompin’! Never far away, a bottle of Chivas Regal and a cup of water to smooth it down."

I miss liner notes. Hooker and Heat was a double album with great pictures and liner notes.
