Threads pop up on these units occasionally, and they are really tough to find information on. So hopefully this will be useful. This info relates specifically to the BP15 unit for solidbody guitars, like SGs and such (there was a similar BP12 for 335-style guitars). Its purpose is to raise the G and/or B strings -- individually or together -- to get a pedal steel effect, similar to a B-Bender.
I am posting a pic of a BP15 unit just for grins, along with PDF docs of the original Bigsby installation and operation instructions. These two docs came to me courtesy of TTR member Barry, for which big thanks, brah! I also attach a drawing with dimensions, which might be helpful.
