Being a Hampshire boy I came across this 1973 LZ recording

Sounded pretty damn good to me (y)

Wonder if this might have been a pre-major tour warmup gig?
Could well have been as I saw them a few times around the Hampshire area when they were doing university gigs just prior to them being noticed, think it shows that from the 1 gbp admission fee

Those must have been mind blowing shows.

Took a deep dive recently into Zep again. This dude JCM the Led Zeppelin Stories on YouTube is so darn good. The documentaries on the making of the Albums had me glued to it. A guy does one on the Stones also. I dont know man, but the 2 best to me when i look back

I remember one gig in the Portsmouth Guildhall Jimmy was not happy with the roadies as one of his two 100w Marshall stacks stopped working, he just turned up the remaining one and we never noticed the difference.
It was all a bit daft anyway because The Gun was their warm up band and we had all been deafened by them before LZ came on stage.
Portsmouth area used to have great Uni gigs, as I remember the week after LZ Free played Southsea Pier (Beach part of Portsmouth) Kossof was stoned to blazes, very happy daze.:dood:
