Back into it!

We had our first band practice in two months. We actually wrote two new songs and started on a couple more. Our singer was in Mexico for a month. I had eye surgery and couldn’t see for a couple of weeks. The other guitar player was in bed with a bad back for a week. Tonight was a hoot. We got right back into it. Played through five songs we knew a couple of times then went into a frenzy of showing each other what we had been working on solo. We all had parts of songs which ended up as two full songs. We ended on a five minute swampy blues jam. It was awesome.

Cool! I hope your eye is doing well.
It is slowly recovering. My vision is back to 50%. The pressure is still very low so I'm not supposed to lift anything over ten pounds or bend over. I have to keep my eye above my heart. The good news is my other eye is back to 100% and I can drive so I'm not stuck at home and can work light duty.

Glad to hear the vision issue is improving; I dont recall hearing about it.
Threat to eyesight is scary stuff.

Great to hear of your band experience; as a solo only basement guy I am very envious of all of you that play with other folks.

My dad lost an eye in a childhood accident; kids messing around.
One of the few things I clearly remember about him as a young boy was him telling us to be careful and protect our eyes.
It is something that has become part of me; I am fanatical about using safety glasses when working on stuff.
Oh, and which eye is the good one to look at while speaking with him.
