Autoharp Info Please...

Do we have any experts on the autoharp... such as history, good/ bad, things to do, etc.

I have come by two types (one acoustic the other electronic) and would like to get some info on them or the place to go to get the info.

One is an Qscar Schimdt 12 chord to which I have found they no longer made the 12 chord. (and with the chording available, I can see why) When did they stop making the 12 Chord to give me an idea on how old they are.

I will need to look at the other but it takes 8 C cell batts, has some plug connectors, bunches of button, made in Japan........

I will try to get some pix if there is anyone that can help. Thanks in advance!
 
Post photos and as much detail as possible then if you get no joy after a week I "may" be able to contact an acquaintance of a friend who plays autoharp. He's an older bloke and probably the type who could help. I won't jump straight in as my ability to communicate with him is through a second party and I'm not sure of the strength of their relationship.
I hope you know autoharp players are a very different breed than the rest of us? :-)
 
I appreciate your help and figured they were very rare. My mom played one a little many years ago while I was rocking my fanny off......
