Audio Interface

Looking for ideas. Want to record guitar and possibly vocal into my laptop. Have a couple free DAWs to play around with. Need to get said guitar and voice into that DAW. So…. Need an audio interface of some sort. Inexpensive, but worth buying. Don’t want junk.

I already have the capabilities to get the guitar in using the USB connection from my Boss GT1. But not voice.

Focusrite Scarlett is what we're using. It seems pretty good, not that I would know the difference lol
We have an 18i8, but the 2i2 and the solo are under 200 bucks

Ill throw one out there that probably wont get mentioned: a Line 6 UX2. They go for about $50-70 used, simple but very effective. 2 mic inputs and a USB output.

Also, many of the Line 6 guitar fx processors have a single mic input and most people aren't aware that they designed for both instrument and vocal recordings ( the Line 6 X3 live is guitar, bass and vocal designed with many effects and preamp settings just for vocal recording. This is also true for the HD500, Helix series too). So if you happen upon a good deal used on one? Definitely worth a gander as it can cover many bases.

My kid has a Focusrite. Twas his suggestion as well.
